One of the most rewarding activities I've engaged in over the last few months has been revisiting the original stories of Ian Fleming. While I'll always enjoy the tropes associated with the cinematic Bond, there's something special about going back to the creator's own vision of the character, in his own words.

So in this 70th anniversary year as we celebrate the publication of the original James Bond novel, I knew I wanted to create something special, and something unique from the pieces I had made celebrating the films. The singular source of inspiration had to be the real life, still there item that was part of Fleming's own process - his beautiful desk, at his home in Jamaica... GoldenEye.

It was great fun examining photos and videos from as recently as the last few years detailing the space in high quality (and then retro-fitting the look to how it appeared in Fleming's day). Of course I needed to incorporate the official 70th anniversary logo, and a subtle reference to the indelible hero we know today.
