Dr. No

I took a little extra time with DR. NO (1962), in part because I enjoy watching it so much, and in part because finishing this poster meant I had completed a poster for every released Bond movie. I was really tempted to design something that would play to the iconic - this is the first time we got James Bond after all. But then what? Is it all white bikinis and baccarat tables? I love this movie for the smaller moments, the way Bond is putting talcum on his briefcase and placing hairs on closet doors. For his more Joe Friday-esque demeanor. For the way Bond is, as the titular villain says, a Policeman.

I've seen a lot of fan art for Dr. No and the iconography appears hard to escape for most people. So I said screw it. Let's celebrate something character driven, not some loud faux-Goldfinger moment. That's a Smith & Wesson... and you've had your six.
